A new container route Tomsk-Cargo — Chengxiang has been opened by the joint efforts of the railway administrations of China, Kazakhstan and Russia and is the first logistics decision in the speedy delivery of goods from Russia to China through Kazakhstan.
The route of the train runs through the backbone network of the Russian Railways, the border crossing Lokot and further by the railway network Dostyk-Alashankou of Kazakhstan to China to the station of Chengxiang.
The total length of the route is over 5 thousand kilometers; the journey time is 7 days at a speed of 800 km/day on average.
