JSC NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy continues to expand co-operation with the provinces of China, strengthening international logistics ties
From 23 to 27 June 2024, a delegation from the Zhejiang Provincial Municipality visited Kazakhstan. During the visit, the delegation visited and familiarised itself with the production processes and operations of various logistics facilities, including the Altynkol station of Kedentransservice JSC, the Khorgos — Eastern Gateway FEZ, the KTZE — Khorgos Gateway and Kolzhat dry ports, and the KIF Warehouses warehouse complex.
This visit was preceded by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the joint development of terminal activities between KTZE and the Zhejiang Provincial Municipality in early June 2024.
A delegation from the mayor’s office of the cities of Qinhua, Yiwu and Zhejiang Province also attended the meeting. Qinhua, Yiwu of Zhejiang Province visited Aktau and Astana, where they held a number of business meetings with the management of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and the Aktau Seaport FEZ.
Zhejiang, one of the most economically developed provinces in Eastern China, is an important logistics hub with more than 17 ports, among which Jinhua and Yiwu stand out. These ports play a key role in the formation of container trains travelling on the China-Europe and China-Central Asia routes.
The development of co-operation between Kazakhstan and Zhejiang Province is aimed at strengthening logistics chains and joint development of terminal infrastructure, which will contribute to economic growth and strengthen trade ties between the two countries.
