First Deputy Minister of Transport of the PRC Visits Xi’an Transport and Logistics Terminal
On November 13, 2024, the First Deputy Minister of Transport of the People’s Republic of China, Xu Chenguan, conducted a working visit to the Xi’an Transport and Logistics Terminal, established through the Kazakhstan-China partnership.
During the visit, Mr. Xu Chenguan reviewed the company’s current projects, assessed the terminal’s role in international logistics, and discussed plans for expanding the terminal network along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) and the Northern Corridor.
The Kazakhstan-China terminal in Xi’an holds a key position within the logistics infrastructure, connecting Southeast Asia and China with Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Russia. Its operations contribute to the “Belt and Road” initiative, aimed at bolstering international transport and logistics links between China and Kazakhstan.
Earlier this year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev officially inaugurated the terminal via video link, underscoring its strategic importance to the global logistics network.
