Cargo consolidation and dispatching by a high-speed train of the “shuttle transportation” system
A new type of transport services is provided by “Kedentransservice”. From the beginning of the year the company together with “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” JSC launched into operation an exclusive transport and logistics service for dispatching/acceptance of consolidated cargo by a high-speed train of the “shuttle transportation system.” This type of service is oriented to customers with small quantities of goods, the main criteria of which are speed and regularity of cargo traffic.
In the first phase a route “Almaty — Atyrau — Aktau” has been chosen as a pilot project. Dispatching/receiving of goods by “shuttle” system will be carried out twice a week (Tuesday and Friday), at that the traffic time of the container train from Almaty to Atyrau is only 3 days, 4 days to Aktau. In the future the company plans to expand the geography and routes of such transportation.
The main advantage of such a transport and logistics service is the regularity of dispatch, safety and security of goods, reducing the time of registration of documents, as well as the establishment of competitive tariffs that can reorient customers from road to rail, especially in the winter time.
