China is investing in the construction of a transport and logistics hub in the Almaty agglomeration

On February 19, 2025, in Urumqi, during a meeting between a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Communist Party of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China, Mr. Ma Xingrui, and the Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC KTZ» Sauranbayev N.E., agreements were reached on investing 1 billion yuan in the construction of the Kazybek Bek transport and logistics hub in Kazakhstan.
The undeniable advantages of this project include a well-developed infrastructure, a favorable geographical location at the intersection of international transport corridors, and the ability to serve large agglomerations in Kazakhstan.
Based on this logistics center, a modern platform for transport and logistics services will be created, establishing it as Kazakhstan’s main transport hub, capable of consolidating import and transit cargo.
